About the book

Everything you never knew about space!
Amazing Space Q&A explores the final frontier, from cosmic dust to super giant stars. Bursting with eye- opening questions and revealing answers, the book tells tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the universe (but were afraid to ask!).

Our Thoughts

Personally, as a Christian I don’t believe in the Big Bang theory presented in this book.  But as an homeschooler, I believe that my kids must be exposed to all the possible theories about the creation of the world.   Why?  Well it is simply because if and when they decide to go to college or university, they would know what are in the textbooks, the beliefs of fellow students and professors as well as being able to defend their own belief and faith.

Nevertheless this book is organized in such a way that you can read the question and the answer on specific themes like: In the beginning, Neighbors in space, Deep space, Other worlds, and Exploring the universe.  Interesting facts are also included throughout the book about astronomers from the past like Galileo and on planets like Mars.

For example for the question “Do scientists fully understand the Universe?” the answer was given that theories are still being developed and that the Big Bang itself was still a mystery. *grin*

However, even though I question some of the information found in this book, I have enjoyed the images found throughout Amazing Space Q&A.  And the book contains interesting facts about space exploration like who invented the space rocket.   Did you know that a Russian scientist developped the first detailed theories of space-rocket flight?    I sure didn’t.   But I knew that a Russian was also the first human that went in space.   Can you guess the name of this gentleman?

If you want to discover more about space, this book will answer some of your questions.

Amazing Space Q&A is available at your favourite bookstore, even amazon.ca.

PS – The first human who went in space was Yuri Gagarin and he was 27 years old in 1961.
