My Thoughts

If you are like me and like to discover history from information provided from digs and research done by archeologist, you will simply enjoy this book.   One evening, I was sitting in the living room and devouring this book with my eyes when my husband told me

I can see why you like Daniel Jackson.  You are like him in a way.

What?  I said.

You can see that I was absorbed in my reading has I didn’t catch what he told me immediately…  He then told me that he understood why I liked the character of Daniel Jackson in StarGate SG-1 since I enjoyed archeology that much.   It true I do.   Love to discover how the Bible can be proved through archeology.   And this book is fabulous for that.    The text is easy to read and the pictures throughout it will open up a new world for anyone loving this kind of things.

This book will give you a better understanding of what is written in the Bible by giving you images, pictures, descriptions and explanations of Biblical times.   There is a lot of text in this book and I do not expect my kids who are in primary grades to grab it and start reading it (even though the information is very interesting).  So far in our family, it seems I am the only one interested in archeology and genealogy.    *sigh*   Still this book is worth discovering and I am thinking it would be perfect book to include in a reading list for high school level.

Reading this book, I find it helps me a lot to visualize life during the biblical times.    I’m a visual type of learner and seeing is a bonus for me.    This book will definitively find a place of honor on my night table.   I will be able to continue reading it an enjoying the information provided in this book just before going to bed.   Isn’t it a great way to ponder on Old Testament stories?

Now I so want to get the book Unwrapping the Pharaohs…  It’s on my wish list!  *grin*
