Our Thoughts

Franklin, Benjamin in French, has been part of childhood stories for many years now.   Everyone in Canada knows about this adorable turtle who have adventures whether on television or in books.    Did you know that Franklin has made a debut on the iPad?   The Bumpy Buggy Race-Off game will keep your preschooler entertained and busy while you wait at the dentist or while you drive around for errands.

This adorable app was discovered by my daughter not too long after I had uploaded it on the iPad.   She immediately played with it with eagerness.   She played by herself and enjoyed selecting her own vehicle.   In all there are six vehicles to pick from:

  • Sam the dog with his airplane car.
  • Tinka the ladybug with her flowerly vehicle.
  • Snuggles the rabbit with a car that reminds me a c bed with its cushion in it.
  • Winky the owl with his dune buggy.
  • Buster the mole with his vehicle.
  • Camilla the duck whose vehicle is partly build for the water and partly build for the land.

Personally I prefect the ladybug but I must admit that I am biased as I adore the little creature.   On each side of the iPad, you will have controls that will allow you to drive the buggy as well as make it jump.   Every now and then roadblocks will appear as well as jump or special tracks.    You can even get some speed by grabbing special bottles during the course.

My daughter loves this game and she goes back to it quite often.    You also have the possibility of saving the races and also include the name and age of the child who played when doing so.

Available for purchase on iTunes for 1.99$.
