The famous BOOKS...

As promised, I've taken picture of the books my son Alexandre won from Scholastic.   Tons of new books for little minds that love books.   All my three boys just love taking a book and looking at it or hearing mom or dad reading.   Alexandre is going to be able to read by himself soon so that's exciting.

Thank you Scholastic for these wonderful books!

A new book for the kids

I went to Indigo this morning after the cooking class of Dominic and found a book with CD based on words from Ecclesiastes.
The book is Turn! Turn! Turn! from Pete Seeger and Wendy Anderson Halperin.
Here's what it looks like... however, it seems that it is not available on Amazon.com .

But at our Indigo store there was a few at 3.99$Cdn. You can purchase it on their website also at: Chapters/Indigo.
Have fun signing and reading to your kids!

Grace-Based Parenting

I am currently reading (devouring would be a proper term...) the book Grace-Based Parenting from Dr. Tim Kimmel.   WoW!   It touches my soul and wants me to become a better parent.   Dr. Kimmel is coming to Ottawa on April 25th and we got our tickets to go to the Parenting Matters Tour from Focus on the Family Canada.

Can't wait to learn more.   In the meantime, I will continue to read this book as it is on my list of Spring Reading.   I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more on how to parent your children with Grace.

Spring Reading!

I've taken up the challenge to read some books during the Spring season.   You can participate by going to Callapidderdays blog.   I think it will be fun.   I am a book worm myself and I sure hope to be able to go through this challenge...

So here's the books I would like to read from March to June 2007.

  • Grace-Based Parenting by Dr. Tim Kimmel  (I need to read this one before the conference on April 25th in Ottawa)

  • Mary Pride's Complete Guide to Getting Started in Homeschooling (this one is started but I really want to finish it.   Huge book with tons of interesting information.)

  • For women only by Shaunti Feldhahn (started a while back and I really want to finish it).

  • The complete works of  E.M. Bounds on Prayer in contemporaruy English (Started as well but there is so much to read in it that I am taking it slowly...)

  • Married to a Pastor by H.B. London & Neil B. Wiseman  (just started this book after a situation brought me some stress and I needed to understand the future role of my husband and myself when we plant our church).

  • Praying the names of God by Ann Spangler (daily devotions that will continue).

  • Yada Yada prayer group gets rolling by Neta Jackson (LOVE the series.... obviously I want to read the next book which will come out sometime in April).   IN ORDER

  • The Poems and Prayers of Helen Steiner Rice

  • Me, Myself and Bob by Phil Vischer.   (A must in our household I think since we are BIG fans of Veggie Tales since before we had kids... )

  • Beyond Survival: A Guide to Abundant-Life Homeschooling by Diana Waring (this book was lent to me by a fellow homeschooler mom from our church - Thanks Robin!)

To top it off, I will have to do daily devotions with inSPIRE for the next 9 months.   So I will continue my current devotions and do regular daily time with God.

To be honest, I wonder how I will pull it off but God is bigger and He can help me through this...

Happy reading!
