Holy Clothing

It is amazing on what you can stumbled upon while being on facebook one day. I discovered Holy Clothing because two woman in my church (sisters) kept talking about it on the social media site. I was curious to know what the fuss was all about and decided to google the name. I quickly discover their site - www.holyclothing.com – and was amazed to see what this family-owned business offered for women. On the site I discovered amazing fashion of exclusive handmade dresses, tops, pants and skirts in Renaissance, Gypsy, Boho and Peasant styles.

These clothes seemed to bring the feminine side of women, look amazingly comfortable and didn’t reveal too much. I decided to see if there was a possibility to review an item. I was delighted to get a rapid positive response to my request. I could pick any item I wanted to review.

My eyes had already been attracted to a specific skirt that I had found totally adorable – the midnight black Talia Ruffle Peasant Skirt.

This skirt has a fairy style with the petals descending in a graceful swirl which envelop the curves on a woman’s body. This skirt is appropriate for any event in your life as it is very versatile. It will flutter softly while you walk. Made of 100% rayon and viscose textile, this skirt is ethically handmade in India.

Now since I was receiving a package from HolyClothing, I asked them if it could be possible for me to order a top to go with the skirt and get it shipped at the same time. It was possible so I decided to get a marvelous Grace Bias Cut Boho Top in the burgundy wine color.

This particular top can be worn on her own or combined with other pieces. It is a classic top that will be versatile with anything you wear – whether jeans or skirt. It has a flattering v-neck with an elegant touch of satin on the border. Grace will flatter any figure.

Again this item is made of 100% rayon/viscose textile and is ethically handmade in India.

Thoughts on the Holy Clothing products

First of all, I must say that I am really impressed with the rapidity of the ordering process. I confirmed the order last Thursday and I got a confirmation that the items were shipped on Saturday. By Tuesday late afternoon, I had the package in my hands. I immediately opened it and proceed to do a little fashion show to my husband and kids. My husband immediately said he really liked it and strongly suggested that I wear the top that evening for an event we were attending. The boys were saying that it looked good and my sweet little 4 year old daughter thought the clothes were for her when she saw them out of the bag (more thoughts on her comments later!).

I particularly like the material and the fact that the clothes are vey comfortable. The item I prefer is definitely the skirt. Wearing it makes me feel stylish to say the least because it is out-of-the-ordinary. The skirt is very versatile and you can wear anything with it. I wore it last Saturday to two birthday celebrations of friends of ours. I really like the way it flows when you walk and how it wraps around you when you sit down.

The top is very comfortable as well though I find that I need to wear a detailed piece of clothing under to make it a bit more modest. Fortunately I had such an item in my drawers. Now I would like to have one in black as well to match the skirt when I wear them both together. I love the long sleeves on it because in Canada we can get cool days/evenings during the Fall-Winter-Spring seasons.

Let’s get back on the first reaction of my daughter when she saw the clothes out of the bag. She asked quite innocently “Is it for me?” to which daddy said “No honey it’s not always for you. This time it’s for mommy.” But it got me thinking… Wouldn’t it be totally adorable to have versions of the women skirts, tops, dresses, pants in smaller sizes so that mommy and her daughter(s) can wear the same things? Jasmine at age 4 really loved the Talia skirt. I think having a smaller version with tightening string at the waist because not every girl is the same size and my Jasmine is quite petite would be seriously adorable. So this is my suggestion for HolyClothing – “Would you consider creating a girl version of these clothes of your because I think that teaching purity and modesty should start at a young age? If you do, please let me know because I have a daughter who would love to review some items!”

My Thoughts

These shirts are simply amazing.  

We had the opportunity to review a panoply of Nerf Dart Tag products earlier this year and the boys are having a blast with them since Father’s Day.

In one of the packages I had received back them there was two training shirts.   Having three boys, I knew that we needed another shirt for my oldest son.    This shirt is an official competition jersey.   Yes there is such a thing as a Nerf competition believe it or not.   Anyhow, this shirt comes in either red or blue and is used for competition.  

In our household, this shirt will bring some joy to a boy who is looking forward to have his own Nerf Tag shirt so he can be hit and have the darts stick on him.   

The darts will stick easily on these shirts so that you can be sure not to loose any of them while playing and having fun.  With three boys having their own shirt we surely have our own competition in our basement – LOL!

My Thoughts

  I received the Gabrielle model (see image on the side).    What I particularly like about the Pirose Fashion scarf is the flexibility in how you can wear it.    It is very versatile and can be worn in many ways depending of your mood, your style or what you wear.  

The material is very light and remind me of the delicate wings of a butterfly.    The best part is that you receive the scarf in a little bag that you can carry with you if you decide to remove the scarf at some point during an evening under the stars. 

The adaptable item will be a wonderful addition for your wardrobe.   And you can get a variety of them by getting different colors!

Right now, in my area, it is still winter time.   I see this beautiful scarf to  be more useful for the Spring, Summer time for me.    With the winter coats to put over it, I don’t see myself wearing such an item on my shoulders.   Nevertheless, I love the scarf and plan to use it when the nice weather comes.

CostumeSquad t-shirts

I surprised my husband last month when I gave him a Cyberdyne Systems Skynet Division t-shirt as a surprised.    First let me tell you that my husband is not too keen on surprises.   His love language is definitively not gifts… now do an act of service though and he will be very happy (like today, I shoveled part of the driveway so he can drive in the garage…  yes I left him the rest of it and he knows about it!  He will use the snowblower.)    So I didn’t know how he would react when I was going to give him the t-shirt.  Knowing that he LOVES the Terminator movies/TV Series I was hoping deep down in my soul that he would like it.   

“Honey, I have something for you!”  hiding the shirt behind my back…

“What?”  and then he gives me the look of you know I don’t like gifts kind of thing…

“Well, I know you like Terminator a lot and when I saw this, I couldn’t resist…  So I got one for you.”

and I showed him the t-shirt…   He loved it.

Thought it was very thoughtful of me.   *blush*

Then he saw the size…. 2XL – he usually gets XL as t-shirts.     Then I told him, “You know how the shirts we get in the US shrinks a lot in the dryer I thought this would be good.”   So off to the washer/dryer the t-shirt went.   And it shrunk like I hoped it would do.   *ouf*   

He also commented on the thickness of the shirt which he thought was thinner than the regular shirts he usually purchase.  However, he wears it on a regular basis.   And I think it is a perfect fit for him.   I’m so glad I decided to get a bigger size…

When I had the opportunity to review their t-shirts, I didn’t know which one I should pick.   So I gravitated toward the 80s t-shirt to see if something will catch my eyes.   The 80s has a soft spot for both my husband and I.    I saw multiple t-shirts that could have found their way toward our house but when I saw the Star Wars one I simply couldn’t resist it.   I knew that my boys would be TOTALLY excited about it.   You see we have this tradition in our house.   At five years old, they are allowed to watch the original three episodes of Star Wars.  When they turn seven, they can watch the episodes I, II and III.    Some friends told me we were weird not to let them watch it in the proper order but we think this is the proper order when you think about it.    After all, haven’t we seen the movies in that order?  Besides, when you stop and look at episodes I , II and III you can see that these movies are a bit more darker than the original ones (yes even with Jar-Jar in the picture!).

So I got this special Star Wars shirt which is unfortunately a bit too big now for any of my kids.   But I am very excited at the vintage design on it and the colors.   I know that it will be a hit.  However, I am a bit disappointed with the thickness of the t-shirt itself.  Some people would appreciate the fact that it is thinner than other shirts.   I would have preferred a bit thicker.   But nevertheless, the quality of it is good.

Crazydogs t-shirts

Crazy Dog t-shirts is the website to do to find fun and crazy t-shirts for the person you love.   You can find funny t-shirts that will put a smile on the face of everyone you will encounter during your day.   

Some are quite novel actually like the one I have chosen.    Remember the converse shoes?   I had two pairs back in the 80s.    Makes me feel kind of old now but believe it or not Converse is still around and now a new generation of teenagers wants them on their feet.   Crazy I tell you. 

I received the t-shirt with two red Converse shoes on it.    I am impressed with the quality of the graphics on it and the thickness of the shirt itself.    I chose to get a large youth for my oldest son.  He grows up so fast that I am pretty sure that it won’t be long before he can wear it…   I am also hoping that the shirt will last for his brothers as well.  

Mind you not all t-shirts on this site are tasteful.    Some of them are quite offensive I find but if you check fun t-shirts with 80s, movies, or vintages themes.

EZ Sox

Recently I got approached by the creators of a new product on the market to promote their new socks designed with preschoolers in mind.  

EZ Soz is the “I Can Do It” sock for your toddler.   It is a fun learning pair of socks that will help build self-confidence in the dressing learning stage.   It is well known that putting on socks is a tricky thing to learn for little ones.   Well, someone has finally thought of a design that will help the younger children to master this new challenge in their lives.

The cute little animal face that is found on the sock is a guide to show the child which way goes above and which way goes under the foot.   Also, reinfoced loops are included at the top of the sock to help the kids to pull it up.    Finally, non-skid bottoms allow the child to walk safely on slippery surfaces like wood and such.  

When I received the package from EZ Sox, I wondered which pair of socks I would get.  And I was very happy to discover that they have sent the ladybug!   I knew instantly that Jasmine would be delighted with them.

As soon as she saw the socks, Jasmine grabbed them and wanted to put them on.   She loved the ladybug on it.   She easily found the loops and pulled them on her feet.   She was so proud of herself when she did it.   Priceless!

As a result, she has two warm feet with cute ladybugs on them.   And she did it all by herself.  She loved the socks so much that she wanted to keep them on her feet for the night but after a day wearing them, I convinced her that I needed to wash them before she wore them again.  “Okay maman!” was her answer.

Would I recommend these socks?  You bet!   They have fun designs on them and the loops are ingenious.    I give my two thumbs up for these socks!

Mark’s Warehouse

One morning, I decided to be bold enough and contact a clothing store to see if I could review their products.  Mark’s Warehouse has many innovative technologies for clothing which I had experienced a bit in the past with the Curvetech products.  

I decided to try to see if I could review something from their store.   Imagine my joy when I received a positive answer.   I got asked to send my size and I could receive some samples.    I decided to go to the store and try some things to see what would interest me.   I then send them the products and sizes I had tried and let them know that they could surprise me…   Yeah I know.   It’s bold and crazy but at the same time it was more fun for me!

What is Mark’s Warehouse? you might wondered.   After all not all my readers are from Canada.  *grin*   (I’ve recently discovered that I have readers from all around the world!)

Okay.  Now you might be wondering what I received.   First, let me specify that I had given them a list of six products from which they could choose from.   Two of these were more expansive items.    Something that I needed from such a long time – a new jacket to go outside during cold weather.   The one I had was bought in my late teenager years before I went to University – YIKES!  

So this past week, I received a package from Mark’s Warehouse.   Inside, this package was…….   Drum Roll please!

A NEW COAT!   I feel so blessed and just love it.   It is a 3-in-1 type of coat where I can separate the inner jacket from the main coat for three different ways of wearing it.     The kids were so excited for me.  Even my husband couldn’t believe his eyes…   After all, this was the most expensive item from the list!

This beautiful coat will also keep you comfortable in a wind chill factor of –35 degree Celsius.  This coat has some of the technologies of Mark’s Warehouse attached to it.

The first day I received the coat, I had to separate the inner jacket as is was quite warm outside.   I wore it while going to pick up the mail and while I was walking a little ladybug came and landed on myself.    I was amazed by this little creature that stayed on me for the longest time.   

On Thursday morning, while at my bible study at my church, a friend mentioned that the “robin egg” color of the coat was nice for me (BTW it was colder that morning so I wore the whole coat.).  Actually the color is called Morning Sky.  *grin*  But seeing the color of the eggs of a robin, I guess she is right.   It is quite similar…

I am quite pleased with the coat.   I like the flexibility on how to wear it and the warmness of it.    This coat is definitively a blessing for me since I was in need of such an item.  And with the cold weather that is setting in, I am pleased to be warm when I go outside.  Let me tell you that I was grateful to wear it on Halloween this year because the cold weather had arrived faster that we would have liked.    I am even looking forward to spend time in the snow with my kids this winter!   To top it off, I discovered in this week’s flyer that they also have winter gloves to match the coat I got.  

One interesting feature that the coat possess is that the little overlap of material covering the zipper when you include the inner jacket in the coat itself.   This means that you do not have a cold zipper part sticking in your face during the cold weather.    I am impressed that someone has thought of this and made the effort to design the coat for a maximum experience during the winter time.   

If you are looking for quality clothes, I would strongly suggest that you check out the variety of items you can find at Mark’s Warehouse.   They have everything for women and men whether you are looking for work clothes or just comfort clothes for home.  The only thing that is missing in this store would be the children section.   Maybe they will explore this market in the future…  If they do, I know that the quality of their clothes will be higher than other brands out there.
