NERF Megalodon (N-Strike Mega)

Hasbro has new NERF Blasters on the market and one of them is called the Megalodon.  It is part of the N-Strike MEGA line of NERF Blasters that Hasbro has created.

As you can see the Megalodon possesses a rotating drum which can hold up to 20 NERF Mega darts.  This special toy blaster will permit you to have plenty of firepower in your NERF battles with friends.

All you will have to do is crank the handle back and forth and pull the trigger to launch 1 dart at a time, or unleash all 20 of them rapidly with the slam-fire action.

This mega firing power will shoot darts up to 25 meters (85 feet for my American readers).   What could resist against this machine?

This blaster comes with 20 darts as well as instructions.   These darts are especially designed in order to make a whistling sound as they fly through the air.   Official NERF darts are tested and approved for performance and quality.

Designed for ages 8 and up.   However, by extremely cautious when using it as you want to avoid injuries.  Do not aim at the eyes or face of your opponent.  Also, it is strongly recommended to use only the darts designed for this product.

Our church sometimes put on NERF nights for the kids and my own children often bring their own NERF blasters to compete during that night.  They have different activities that can be done from battles between two camps to challenges to demonstrate skills.

NERF has been part of the life of my children since they could hold a blaster.  They made great memories with them whether at home or at church during the NERF nights.

This Christmas bring a little excitement in the life of your kids (or dad as well) and get them the NERF Megalodon blaster.

The NERF Megalodon blaster is available for purchase at your favorite store, even on amazon (Canada and US).

Nerf N-Strike Modulus Ghost Ops Evader

Does you child (or yourself) enjoy Nerf battles with family and friends?  Does your church youth ministry have events involving Nerf battles like ours do sometimes?   Well you might want to know that Hasbro has released an out-of-the-ordinary Nerf blaster this year…  The Nerf N-Strike Modulus Ghost Ops Evader will blow your mind.  Let me tell you more about this blaster.

I have never seen a blaster so transparent before – now only will it hide you perfectly when doing dark Nerf battles with friends but you can surprise them with suddenly lighting your blaster when you are almost in front of them.  As you can imagine, you have the option of staying in stealth mode or light your way by simply pressing a button in the front of the blaster.  Pressing the front button on the handle will bright up your path with green neon color zooming around your blaster.  It is the coolest thing I have ever seen before.  Even my kids were impressed by it!

And that’s not all…  You can custmize the blaster with the barrel extension that lights up when attached to the blaster.   Or you can built your own blaster up by attaching other Modulus accessories on the tactical rails.  The Evader blaster is part of the Ghost Ops series that also includes the Reflective Targeting Kit and ChronoBarrel upgrades. With the entire Modulus system, more than 1000 combinations are possible! (Note that Blasters, upgrade kits, and accessories are sold separately).

Using this blaster is really easy.  All you have to do is load the 12-dart clip into the Evader blaster, take aim, and unleash 12 darts in a row with rapid-fire motorized blasting.  Voilà!

The Nerf N-Strike Modulus Ghost Ops Evader comes with the blaster, the clip housing cover, the barrel extension, a 12-dart clip, 12 Elite darts, and instructions.

This blaster is very special and will bring a load of fun when competing in a friendly competition with family and/or friends.

The Nerf N-Strike Modulus Ghost Ops Evader and its accessories are available at your favorite toy store, even on amazon.ca and amazon.com.

My Thoughts

NERF blasters are a big part of my kids life during the school year. Why? Well at the church we attend, they sometimes held NERF nights for junior high  and high school students. And my boys love going to these events. So it was a no brainer for me to review the NERF Rival Nemesis MXBII-10K because I knew that it would be a popular blaster for my kids.

This blaster is different that other blasters on the market because instead of having darts that you will shoot at your opponents, you have high-impact rounds the size of a small ball. Mind you picking these ups can be an exercise in itself... especially at an event called Nerf Nights. Like it or not  the child who will be using this blaster will have to run after the balls at some point.  But still the blaster has huge potential in bringing fun in an event where you are suppose to reach the target whether human or non-human.   Usually, the NERF Nights are organized in such a way that the kids get challenges as well as hiding techniques to achieve.  So a great 2 hours with friends and adults for a child of any age.

This blaster requires 6D batteries..... yes you have read right... six of the big batteries! And the age recommendation for this particular blaster is ages 14 and up. Why? You might be wondering. Well, to be honest the blaster is heavy and would take two hands for you to handle it. Trust me. I am an adult and I find it heavy to hold.  So imagine holding it on an extended period of time while waiting for a target to show up.    On another hand, it will allow you to make muscles for sure after using this beast for 2 hours.

The blaster possess a feed that can be continuous or set as a  one at a time depending on how you press the release button. You will also find a trigger lock on it. Included in the box is 100 rounds that are easy to insert in the hopper for quick play.

With this blaster you could easily set up a target stand at home or outdoors for practicing your shooting. We are planning to do just that when  camping season opens back next May (six months to wait…) and we go at the RV for the week-ends. It would be a fun competition as a family in order to determine who is the best precision shooter. We could make teams or compete individually.

Two different colors of blasters are available - team red or team blue. This allows you to have two teams battling each other.

If you are looking for a good blaster, I would highly recommend any products from NERF. They are quality made and will provide fun time for sure.

The NERF Rival Nemesis MXBII-10K is available for purchase at your favorite toy store, even on amazon.ca and amazon.com.  It is available in blue or red.

NERF Rebelle Flipside Bow

After numerous NERF blasters that I have reviewed in the past few years, it was a breath of fresh air to receive a NERF toy that is especially designed with a girly flair.   The NERF Rebelle Flipside Bow is perfect for the girl in your house who desire to fight with her brothers with a bow that is absolutely stylish.  This bow will keep your daughter busy by flipping the barrels which can contain 5 darts each.   Yes she will have to refill the drums once they are all gone but it will keep her busy for a little while.

The bow is easy to use.  First you will have to pull the bowstring toward you.  Second, release the bowstring in order to shoot a dart to your “enemy”.  Third, flip the barrels in order to have a new dart ready to be used.  Voilà! You can start having a blast with friends or siblings anytime you want.

The Elite darts that are included in the package can go up to 24 meters (80 ft).   There are 10 darts included with the bow.   More darts can be purchase in stores.

This bow can be fun to use in event like a NERF Night Challenge for youth.   Our boys are going to such an event numerous times during the year at our church.  Our daughter is looking forward to be able to join them when she is in grade 6.  She still has a couple of years to wait but in the meantime she can practice at home.

The NERF Rebelle Flipside Bow is available for purchase at your favorite toy store, even on amazon.ca and amazon.com.

NERF Rival Khaos Mxvi-4000 Blaster Red

Here’s another beautiful blaster from NERF that will allow you to take the lead in your battles with friends.   My boys have a special night with their youth group at the church – a NERF night event.   It consist of separating the participant into teams and using props, NERF blasters and skills, shoot your opponent in order to make more points.   So when I get the opportunity to review a new NERF blaster it means my boys will have more fun during their special evening.

This specific blaster is unique in itself because it will allow the user to have a better precision when in battle.   What is different with the Rival Khaos MxVI-4000 blaster is that it do not hold darts like most NERF blasters do but instead it will shoot little balls.

The magazine can hold 40 rounds (the balls) and it is easy to load it.  Simply slide the levers all the way down until they lock in place, slide the magazine release button to open the cover and insert the rounds.   Mind you shooting all these in a rapid sequence also means that you will have to run after your rounds after.  But hey it is fun and that’s what it matters.   The magazine release is ambidextrous which me that you can use it whether you are left-handed or right-handed.

This blaster is entirely motorized which means you need to insert batteries in it – 6 D batteries to be more specific.   These can be purchased at any store. I know some people like to purchase batteries at a dollar store but often I find these to be less reliable as time goes by.

The Nerf Rival blaster will fire 40 high-impact rounds at a velocity of 30mps.   It also possess flip-up sights, tactical rails, a jam clearing door and indicator. It is definitely perfect for NERF night at our church.

This special blaster could make a great gift to someone like my sons who participate to a great evening a fun with friends in a safe environment.

NERF N-Strike Modulus Battlescout ICS-10

When your kids are participating to special evening with the youth group of your church and that these nights are all about teams combatting each other with NERF blasters, you always keep an eye open on new blasters for them to use.   This Christmas season why not considering the new NERF N-Strike Modulus Battlescout ICS-10 for your child if he likes to compete with his friends in battle scenarios.

This specific blaster will allow you to personalize your own blaster with a multitude of attachments that can be purchase separately.   In all you have over 1000 different combinations with the Modulus upgrade kits and accessories.

The package contains the indexing clip blaster, an indexing clip, 10 elite darts, and a 720p HD camera.  Yes you have read this correctly, a 720p HD camera which allow you to record your battles real time.   However note that you will have to purchase your own SD card in order to have the ability of recording your battles.   I think this is absolutely very high tech and out-of-this world.   I know that this camera would permit a child who is somewhat more technical and competitive to figure out better aim and strategy for future games with friends.

And having the possibility of adapting and modifying your blaster in order to have a more effective blaster in event like the NERF nights at our church is definitely a great advantage to have over opponents.

This blaster would make a wonderful gift under the Christmas tree this year if you have a child who loves NERF products and would like to become more strategic with the battles he/she participates in.

Please note that you will require 4 AA batteries for this blaster in order to be able to use it.

The NERF N-Strike Modulus Battlescout ICS-10 is available for purchase at your favorite toy store, even on amazon.ca and amazon.com.

It’s NERF or NOTHING’

If you have kids like we do, you probably have heard of NERF and their numerous blasters.   I am privilege to present you the NERF MEGA MASTODON today.  Initially, I thought it would be perfect for my 10 years old son to bring to the famous NERF Nights that are held at our church.  But seeing how big this blaster is I think I need to rethink the usage of it.

When we went to close our RV and take our boat out of the water last week, our mailman delivered the package on the porch.  Fortunately, our neighbor picked it up for us and brought it on Saturday when he saw we were back.   My husband brought it upstairs and without my knowledge proceeded to open it.   You should have seen his eyes shining as he looked at the box.  You see he has big plans for our family pictures this year and I could see his plans forming in his head.   I won’t say more because I do not want to kill the surprise for those who will receive our family picture.

This blaster is very big and would be preferable for teenagers or adults though the box does mention ages 8+…  The MEGA MASTODON will definitely crush your opponents with its motorized blasting of mega darts.   Nobody can stand a chance when facing this NERF Blaster!

The device comes with 24 darts and a revolving drum.   It also comes with a shoulder strap which helps you to keep it close to you at all times.

The Mega darts will travel great distance as well compared to the regular NERF darts.   About 80% of them will travel less than 28 meters (95 feet) while 20% of them would travel between 28-30 meters (95-100 feet).   I would recommend to have a fannypack in order to store these bullets and to purchase extra bullets in order to keep our MEGA MASTODON ready to use.  Come to think of it, I think Hasbro should design and offer a NERF MEGA fannypack to fans.  I think it could be a popular items among the fans of NERF blasters.

The MEGA MASTODON is not very heavy but the size of it could make it awkward to manipulate.  It was a great idea to include a shoulder strap for carrying it while have a war with friends.

Note that the MEGA MASTODON also require 6 D batteries in order to function. Assembly will be required though no tools are necessary.   When opening the box you will see that the revolving drum needs to be put together.

Also be extremely cautious when using the MEGA MASTODON.   Do not aim at the eyes or face in order to avoid unnecessary injuries.  Play safely and have a blast!

This NERF MEGA MASTODON is a great gift for someone who is really into NERF blasters and love to have activities like the ones they are putting at our church.   The junior high kids enjoy getting together about 5-6 times a year and create some challenging courses where two teams are fighting against each other.   My boys sure enjoy that evening with friends and pizza.   They are already looking forward to the next one on November 5th.

The NERF MEGA MASTODON is available for purchase anywhere, even on amazon.ca and amazon.com.

My Thoughts

Geared for people ages 8 and up, this mega blaster will bring some joy for any child who is into Nerf blasters.   My junior high has Nerf nights throughout the year at the church (yes you have read correctly – at church!) we attend where the kids can be strategic and have a blast at the same time.  My son missed the first Nerf night a couple of months ago because he had a fresh stitch from a recent accident he had after the swimming lesson.  He was so disappointed that he couldn’t attend it.  Consequently, he is so looking forward to the Nerf Night on December 18th.  So I know without a doubt that he will enjoy having this jewel of a blaster in his hands.

The blaster comes with 10 darts that are bigger than the regular darts from other Nerf blasters.   That is why it is part of the MEGA series.   The dart are huge in comparison of the ones we usually have.    The Rotofury has a rotating drum which will shoot the 10 darts rapidly directly in a slam-fire action to an unsuspecting target.   To make it more fun for the person controlling the blaster, the whistler darts will scream through the air as it try to reach the target.  The dart themselves could go as far as 24 to 28 meters .  A Mega dart performance chart can be found in the back of the box.

The Nerf N-Strike Mega Series Rotofury blaster is great for indoor and outdoor play.   Make sure you keep track of the darts so that you don’t loose them.   The Rotofury blaster apparently works better with Mega Darts only.  It is strongly recommended not to modify the darts or the blaster itself and to use only darts designed for this product.

The NERF N-Strike Mega Series Rotofury Blaster is available for purchase at your favorite toy store, even on amazon.ca and amazon.com.

Cool your Summer with Hasbro Nerf Products

Every year, when summer time pops in and the days gets warmer, the kids wants to stay cool.  One way they do that is by competing against each other and soak themselves using the Nerf Soakers.   This time of the year, you might see new models on the shelves of your favourite stores.  I am here to present you two of the newest models on the market.

*********************************

NERF Rebelle Dolphina Bow Blaster

This new bow blaster has been specifically designed for girls.   It somewhat makes me think of Katniss Everdeen from Hunger Games because of the shape of the blaster.    Your girld will step up with strength and style and bow-blasting soakage with the Dolphina Bow Blaster.  This stylish soaker will allow you to fill it with  up to 25 ounces of water.   All the child has to do is to pull the handle back and push it forward to fire a blast of water at your target.   Practice on target or shoot at your siblinngs, you can show off your skill and soak your mark with the Dolphina Bow blaster.   I love the design of the bow and the fact that there is something out there for girls now.   The blue and pink colors make it very attractive.

However, my only disappointment with it would be the storage capacity of this blaster.   Only 25 ounces of water can be poured in.   Which means that the refilling would happen more often than the regular size soakers.    It would be nice to have a storage capacity a bit bigger than 25 ounces of water.  What is 25 ounces of water? About this much.

So you can easily imagine that this quantity of water will be drained quite rapidly from the NERF Rebelle Dolphina Bow Blaster.  But I have to highlight the fact that I think this is the first time ever that there is a water blaster specifically designed for girls.   And I hope that many more will make their way on the shelves in store in the future (yes even with a bigger storage capacity!).

*********************************

NERF Super Soaker Barrage Soaker

Presenting the new huge-capacity Barrage soaker! This big drencher can hold up to 84 ounces of water, and it's easy to pump and fire at your opponents.   Turn the nozzle to 1 of 3 soaking modes so you can choose just how to soak your target including a huge stream in Flood mode or the ability to hit multiple targets in Scatter mode.    But if you need to hit targets up to 38 feet away, you will want to use the Distance mode!   Nobody will be able to stand against you when you come armed with the Barrage soaker.

Now with this big soaker you can be certain to drench your opponents no matter where they are hiding.   This soaker is also very versatile as you can use three different soaking modes on it.    Simply switch the nozzle to select the one you prefer.

The NERF Rebelle Dolphina Bow Blaster and the NERF Super Soaker Barrage Soaker are available for purchase at your favourite store.
