Fill your stockings with fun

Every year, I try to do something special in the stocking of my kids.   But as much as chocolate and candy canes are nice, I don’t want them to have too many….   So what are the other options for filling the stocking that we might have.   That’s where Hasbro Canada comes in.  They have numerous fun ideas to fill the stocking for kids and teens. 

I have a few items that I can present you today.  However, you can find more stocking ideas on their website.

Marvel Ultimate Spider-Man Titan Hero Series – Ultimate Spider-Man Figure

This figure is the size of a doll and represent Spider-Man in his ultimate costume.    The figure is quite solid.  The arms and legs will move to make him walk.    It is a great stocking idea for the special fan of Spider-Man in your life.

We have passed the age of Littlest Pet Shop in our home.   We have graciously passed on the items we had to another little girl who plays with them.   But when I saw Feathers Underwood, I thought he was too cute not to mention it.   Knowing that owls are very popular nowadays, I wouldn’t be surprise that Feathers Underwood be found in many stockings this year at Christmas.

Playskool Mr. Potato Head Marvel Mixable Mashable Heroes as Spider-Man Set

Mr. Potato as Spider-Man (or Iron Man or Captain America) was too good to pass on.    Being comic character fans and always trying to be on top of the numerous Super-Heroes movies in theatre, I know that this potato dressed as Spidey would be a cute surprise for someone in my family.   I like the fact that you can switch the parts with of Mr. Potato Head Marvel Mixable Mashable Heroes.  Hope that Mrs. Potato will follow in his footsteps soon in order to offer super-heroines for little girls.

Disney Pop-Up Magic Enchanted Mini Game Featuring Rapunzel

As you can see, there are numerous ideas from Hasbro Canada that can be use as stocking surprises this Christmas.   There are something for any ages whether you have a toddler or a teenager in your life.

About the product

Pick and Draw was developed to be used in my presentations to children of all ages at public libraries and schools. I knew that most kids that I drew with at these one hour sessions I would never see again, and wanted to help them unlock new pathways of visual thinking…empower them, and do it in an unsuspecting fun way.

That is when Pick and Draw was born.

My Thoughts

I stumbled on this cute little card game that will encourage your child and yourself to draw on facebook.   Somehow I saw a post about it.  I was curious, explored their website and decided to request it.   Pick and Draw is a fun little product that will stimulate you in drawing .   I particularly like the fact that you can develop the gift of drawing that God has given us and that you can use the cards to share the Gospel (as shown on their website).

Essentially, the product is in fact a card game where you need to pick a card from each set – face, nose, eyes, mouth, and hair.   You can’t look at the faces of the cards.  Keep each color card face down in front of you.   Now you will need paper and a pencil.   Once you have the tools you need to proceed, flip the red card and draw whatever shape shown on the card.  Slowly at every step of the way (as soon as you finish one card you need to flip another one – red, green, purple, blue, and orange) you will discover the character that you are drawing.   There is no card for ears and you can do them as soon as you have completed the face, nose, eyes, and mouth.   As you advance the drawing you are allowed to erase any of the face shape that need to be removed as you draw.    The last card you are allowed to draw is the hair one – orange – and you have to add the hair you see on  the card. 

I think the product is great to encourage anyone to develop their ability to draw.  I have a child who shows an interest in drawing and this product will be perfect for him.  But the product is so much fun that I think we will all use it when we need to take a break from our homeschool.

Stocking Stuffer Ideas with Hasbro Canada

I was introduce to stocking when I was younger.  We would go to my paternal grand-parents and there we would each have a stocking with little goodies in it.   MY uncle was from England and I suspect that this tradition came from him along with the crackers we had to pull to find a surprise in it.   As a French Canadian from Quebec, I don’t recall having stocking on the other side of the family.    Nevertheless, the “tradition” of having a stocking under the tree stayed with me and when we got married and had kids, we decided to do the stocking first thing on Christmas morning.  Most of the time, we would insert chocolate and other small goodies.  But as the kids grow up, I started to wonder what else we could include in the stocking.   So my daughter started to get scrunches for her hair and things like that.  But apart from food and dollar store things (which would last longer than the cheap toys found there) what else could we put in there?

Hasbro Canada has numerous ideas for stockings – from play-dog to characters like Littlest Pet Shop or Minions from Despicable Me I am sure you will find numerous fun things to include in the stocking of your kids this year.

As you can see there are plenty of ideas from Hasbro to fill the stocking in your house.   My favorites this year might be the Sesame Street mini plush as well as the Angry Birds Go! Telepods.  

The Angry Birds Go! app is schedule to be release soon and I expect that many will purchase the app before Christmas.   These telepods will allow you to unlock the kart in the app as well as have fun with the telepods.   Considering there are numerous telepods to collect, it could make a fun item to include in the stocking of your kids this Christmas.
