My Thoughts

This helmet is simply amazing.  Inspired by the Black Panther movie, this electronic helmet will bring joy to anyone who is a fan of the Marvel character or anything related to Black Panther.   It can also be use for cosplay or for a costume event if you have an amazing costume of Black Panther.    It is definitively a premium roleplay electronic helmet for sure!

  

The attention to details put for creating this helmet is absolutely stunning.   You will find padding inside the helmet to make it more comfortable to wear for extended period of time and the eye area is protected with rubber so there is not pressure around that area.  This electronic helmet is packed with vibranium light effects that can be access by a simple touch of the side of the helmet.  This functionality helps to demonstrate the suit’s ability to absorb and redistribute the kinetic energy as we have seen in the movie.  The blue colors will spread on the side of the helmet.  Imagine seeing this in a dark environment…  

This helmet also possess flip-up and flip-down lenses which can be activated by the press of a button on the side of the helmet.   Also be aware that this helmet is not a protective device so do not wear it while doing extreme sports or riding a motorcycle.  This helmet is only for collectors and/or cosplay purposes.

Note that the helmet requires 3 AA batteries which are not included in the box.  And this helmet has been designed with an adult head in mind.  This is not suitable for a child’s head.

If you know someone who is a fan of Black Panther and collects items based on this character, this helmet would be a great addition to the collection.  It would also be a great gift for someone who is planning to become Black Panther in a cosplay event like ComicCon for example.    Or it could be a great décor element for the comic book fan in your life.   This electronic helmet is definitively an amazing item for anyone who enjoy the comic books universe.

Our Thoughts

I have Star Wars fans in my household.  So I thought it would be fun to have a Star Wars mask that let you speak like Dark Vader.   When we got it, I quickly discover how versatile it could be when it comes to the voice.  

You have two options – I mean buttons on each side of the mask.   One side will allow you to speak like Dark Vader every time you talk.  The other side contains pre-recorded sentences from Dark Vader himself – as well as his breathing.  Sentences from the movies like:

You don’t know the power of the dark side.

Don’t make me destroy you.

Impressive.  Most impressive.

I am your father.  Join me and together we can rule the galaxy.

You have failed me for the last time.

And I am very impressed with the switch included in the back of the mask that allow you to use the voice changer or not.    So my oldest son had a costume event one night and we were debating what he would wear.  after much thinking he decided to dress up not as Dark Vader but as Dark Chocolate…  *grin*   He had a special t-shirt he could wear with it.  After the evening, he told me that it would get really hot under the mask and he had to remove it at times.   Also, he said that when he spoke in order to sound like Dark Vader it didn’t completely mask his voice.

Nevertheless, I think the mask is cool and make a fun item to have for Star Wars fans.   My only disappointment is that we didn’t have the proper light saber for my son to be completely like his character.   We only had a double-sided light saber which wouldn’t have worked…

Oya Costumes

October has finally arrived and with it one activity that my kids enjoy doing every year – Trick or Treating throughout our neighborhood.  Now before some of my Christian friends blast me for allowing my kids to go through our neighborhood on October 31st, I want to let you know that we have rules in our household – no scary costumes and nothing distasteful.   And yes we are allowing our kids to trick or treat on Halloween because it is fun and happens once a year.  When the houses are too scary, we skip them.   

So this year, knowing that my daughter is growing up, I decided to approach costume companies to see if I could review an Halloween costume.  Oya Costumes in Canada has agreed to send me a Little Mermaid Girl Costume in exchange of a review. 

My daughter likes anything princessy and one of her favourite princesses is definitively Ariel from The Little Mermaid Disney movie.   Mermaids are renowned for their grace and beauty, which has caused shipwrecks through the ages. This mermaid costume will allow your daughter to have oceans of fun on Halloween or any dress-up time.  The Little Mermaid Costume features a body hugging top with a shimmering aqua skirt and a flowing fish tail, a cute seashells headband.     You can also accessorize the costume with a seaweeds boa which is sold separately.  If you really want to complete the look of the Little Mermaid, you can also purchase a Mermaid Child Wig which will transform your little princess in Ariel in no time!

I am very impressed with the quality of the costume as it is sewn carefully and sparkles with you move in the sun.    She really like the headband as well though she quickly remarked that Ariel doesn’t have a seashells headband in the movie.    Also when she looked at the package, she saw the seaweeds boa and wondered if Oya Costumes had sent one of these as well.  I told her that no and she moved on to try on the costume.   

The costume is available in size XS (4-6), S (6-8) and Size M (8-10).   We received a size S (6-8) which is a bit big on Jasmine but I know it will fit her for a couple of years. 

Recently, we also won the Diamond Edition of The Little Mermaid Disney DVD.  I suspect that my girl will not hesitate to wear her mermaid costume to watch it.

Power Capes

We got a surprise the other week.  In our mailbox was a bag from the same company as the TUTU FABULOUS we had reviewed recently.  Unbeknown to me and without me requesting it, Jasmine had received one of their Power Capes.  

We received a sparkle crown in the back with the letter S for super-heroine. *grin*  About two weeks ago we went to the Awana Grand Prix activity on a Saturday. Knowing that it could take a long time for a little girl to wait for her big brothers to compete, I allowed her to bring her Power Cape. Her closest brother in age – not competing either – requested that he bring his own Superman cape (which is longer by the way). So both brought their capes but since we were surprised with the Power Capes a couple of days before, I decided to take pictures of Jasmine in the gym.

I asked her to show the back and the size of the cape which she gladly proceeded to pose for me.

Jasmine really love the pink cape and I once again I am impressed with the quality of the design.   There is Velcro to keep the cape around the neck instead of the dreaded cord that can cause problems.  I have mixed feeling with cords (and one Superman costume we have has this to hold the cape!) and seeing that the Velcro is safety sown there give me peace in my heart.  Then the side of the cape has been sewn professionally so that the material does not rip during play time.

My sweet Jasmine loves to wear it anytime she can.  This cape of hers shows up regularly in the house. She goes to get it in her room and comes downstairs proudly wearing it.  And it doesn’t take time for her brother Jérémy to follow suits with the Superman cape we have.   Together they are ready to fight the villains in their imaginary world.

Tutu Fabulous

My sweet daughter has started pre-ballet classes through our city thanks to a gift certificate I won while filling up a survey from the City.  So I decided that she could enjoy dance classes as she loves to twirl around in the living room and elsewhere in the house.   My first pick got cancelled because of low registration so I decided to go with pre-ballet lessons.  

Now after her first lesson I checked some possibilities of reviewing a tutu for her.   And Tutu Fabulous graciously responded positively to my request. 

While visiting their website, one particular tutu grabbed my attention as it would perfectly fit with her pink or purple bodysuit.     The Tie Dye Punch Princess Tutu is  signature dress up tutu. Every Tuesday night when she comes back from ballet lesson, she is very excited to show us – parents and brothers – the new things she learned.  She is adorable and completely spunky.   I love my girl to pieces and I can see that she enjoy dancing.

Here’s the latest things she showed us.    She was very proud to have her new tutu for the class this week!

Now talking about the tutu itself.   I am very impressed with the way it was sew together.   Jasmine has another tutu at home but it’s not showing the high quality and time spend in making this one.   Under the tulle, you will discover a satin skirt that makes this tutu even more special for ballet classes.  The tulle itself is even sown with the satin which helps to keep the tulle in place.   And the bow at the front of it completes the tutu.   My daughter is planning to wear it every time she is practicing her ballet positions and when she wants to dance.  She is even talking about trick-or-treating as  ballerina next Halloween (but we shall see the temperature….).
