About the book
Moms, are you struggling with patience? Worrying about your children’s spiritual development? Concerned about their social or behavioral issues? Wondering how to get it all done when there’s just never enough time?
Author Marla Alupoaicei knows that today’s Christian moms want to be the parents God intended. They desire to pray boldly and stand in the gap for their kids. But many mothers haven’t been equipped with the prayer skills, scriptural knowledge, and practical strategies to fight the spiritual battle for themselves and their children.
Marla is no stranger to these trials. She has felt the simmering frustration and discontentment that come from the constant tension of trying to do it all for her family. But as Marla began to turn everything over to God in prayer, He granted her an attitude of gratitude, the antidote to despair. “When you and I choose to praise the Lord, He will be fully present in our hearts, in our homes, and with our children,” she says.
In Prayer Warrior Mom, Marla invites you to walk with her through fifteen life-transforming principles that will empower you to effectively intercede for your children. Learn to cultivate your own attitude of gratitude, pray Scripture, be persistent, pray with power and authority, be your children’s #1 advocate, hear God’s voice above the noise of daily life, and much more!
As soon as I saw this title announced on a Book Sneeze email, I knew I wanted to review it. The best part is that it became available on my birthday so in a way it was a gift to get this book to review. I find this book very inspiring and encouraging for me. It’s offers guideline in how to strengthen and make your prayer life more alive when it concerns your kids. This year I am on a journey in not only discovering God as my Father but in learning to become more proactive and constant when it comes to pray for my family. Having a book like the one here is a marvelous tool to have and carry with you around when you have a device for ebooks.
The book will slowly train you to become a mighty warrior of prayer for your children. It will start with teaching you how to be grateful and train your kids to be grateful on a daily basis. A friend of mine gave me a beautiful leather journal for my birthday. I decided to use it as my gratitude journal like the author strongly suggest to have. Each day since I received this journal, I jolt down some of the things I am thankful for. At night I sometimes ask my kids what they are thankful for … I’m still working on the daily part of it… *grin* I do it daily but there are days I forget to ask the kids about it. Then you will learn to pray scriptures, to stand in the gap (enjoyed reading this chapter a lot!), be aware that answered prayers doesn’t always mean “YES” it could mean “NO” or “NOT NOW”, praying with authority, the power of persistence, fasting for spiritual breakthrough, holding our children losely, hearing God’s voice above the noise in our life, be your children number one advocate, discern God’s will for your kids, live with a spiritual perspective and model forgiveness and grace to your kids.
The author pours her teaching and personal experience through the pages of this book. At the end of each chapter you will have the opportunity to pray the prayer, dig in the Bible with specific verses that will become your Sword of the Spirit on the subject covered in the chapter and ponder how the teaching apply in your life with the Small Group Discussion Questions.
I am personally deeply encourage with this book and highly recommend it to every mom out there. I know that I do struggle with patience and worry about my kids on various levels. Being trained to become a prayer warrior for them is essentials for every mother who loves their kids. Consider expanding your prayer life with Prayer Warrior Mom this year. You won’t regret it.
