My Thoughts
I am absolutely sold out to the Eyewitness series for reference books and learning more about a specific subject. We are currently learning about Medieval times at home and the DK Eyewitness books give you a pretty good idea of life in a castle, the life a knight and life during the Middles Ages. Mind you we are not only looking at these books but the DK Eyewitness books are similar to encyclopedia and you can learn quite a bit with them. Not only can you read but you get a pretty good visualization of that period of time or the theme covered by the book.
Now having them available as paperback is fabulous because they take less space on a bookshelf. Consequently, you will have more space for other titles in your collection of DK Eyewitness books (or DVDs).
Each title contains plenty of photographs, illustrations, and text in order to inform you on the subject you have picked. At the end of the books you will also have a glossary which will give you definition of some of the words found in the text.
I personally find these books of the highest quality and would recommend them for research and non-fiction reading. They are a great addition for your home library and can be very useful for homeschoolers.
Other titles available in the paperback edition are Ancient Egypt, Cat, Crystal & Gem, Dinosaur, Dog, Hurricane & Tornado, as well as Rocks & Minerals. You can explore all the titles published in paperback at DK Canada.
All the titles of DK Eyewitness series published in paperback is available at your favourite bookstore, even amazon.ca and amazon.com.
