Welcome to Elliot Lake, a small Northern Ontario town recognized for its retirement community. We stayed in the two from September 12 to 15 of the year 2010 since my husband had to meet with clients for a contract he was working on.
The Westview Park has 18 daily sites located in the City of Elliot Lake itself. The fees when we stayed there were 25$ per day for a tent and 30$ per day for full service RV. However, please note that not all the sites are full serviced. A limited number of them are. But there is a trailer dumping available on site.
Some of the sites are not well thought we found because the electrical plug were quite far from the sites. Also, the sites are backing the highway.
A park is located across the small highway and you can go swim, launch your boat or even play in the park with your kids. Showers and a comfort station is also available on site. But no laundry facility. Except if you go in town that is…
No internet connection was available either. Which wasn’t a big deal for a few days. The whole campground is not levelled. Some spots are quite straight but most of them are going on a slope which can be tricky when you are parking an RV.
The site is open from May to October.
Personally, we wouldn’t stay day for an extended period of time. It is great for when you are passing through the town though. Please note that payments must be made at the welcome centre of the town. They will give you which site you are assigned.
