What an amazing story about every creature big or small are created by God for a purpose!
The honey bees are not too kind to Bombus and their talk crush his spirit. As we know the Bible often tells us to watch our words as it can demolish someone. Bombus start believing the lies of the honey bees and try to become something different from what he was created to be. God reminded him
No matter what your shape or weigh, you can fly because I gave you flight. Now, lift up your wings… and FLY.
The words are powerful. It demonstrates to us that God doesn’t make errors while he create someone or something. Each and every single child is unique and can bless people around him or her no matter what is his/her condition. I have a nephew who is a special need child. And every time we see him he is rejoicing at seeing us. Having him laughing the way he does brings a smile on my lips. I don’t know why my nephew is a special need but he is special no matter what.
After reading the story, you can discover interesting facts about bumblebees like how they can fly, that they are warm-blooded and than their scientific name is bombus. You can also spend some time talking about the lesson inside the book with your kids with a series of questions included at the end of it. And to top it off, you will fin some very creative activities to do with your kids to remind them (and you) that we are each a unique person and that to be different is to be special.
Bombus The Bumblenee is a beautiful book to have to help your kids understand that everyone is valued in the eye of God. It could make a beautiful book to give as a birthday as well.
