Who is TobyMac?
TobyMac is a Grammy Award—winning artist, producer, and song writer. First known as part of the popular group dc Talk throughout the 1990s, he launched a solo career in 2001 and has since won numerous awards, earned three certified gold albums, and had six No. 1 CHR singles. "City on Our Knees," the inspiration for this book, spent thirteen weeks as Billboard's No. 1 Christian song. TobyMac's previous books include Jesus Freaks (with dc Talk) and Under God (with Michael Tait and WallBuilders). TobyMac is married, with five children, and makes his home near Nashville, Tennessee.

My Thoughts
I love books who brings the reality of being a Christian into more concrete stories.   Stories where you can see what God is doing in other people’s life.   It’s part of bringing our testimonies to others.    And City on Our Knees is just about that.   It is filled with stories of people who took a step of faith and decided to follow God.   Through these stories you will catch a glimpse of what the Lord is doing in our world in the past and even today.

Based on the song of TobyMac, this book will demonstrate that God is on the move.    All it takes is faith and trust in Him.    Since I started reading the book, we listen to his song quite often in our family.   Even my 9 year old son knows the lyrics – a thing I am still struggling at my age (I was never good to remember the lyrics without hearing the song at the same time LOL).    But Alexandre is singing it while I drive.   Mind you it must help when TobyMac is one of his favourite singers. 
 
I pray that my kids will be like the people we read about in City On Our Knees.  I can see God doing His work in them and I pray that someday they will have an impact of others.
