My Thoughts

Oooooh!  The memories I have with this particular toy.    *grin*    And to know that it still exists so many years later is exciting!   I have fond memories of me baking some little cakes for my parents when I was younger (like 34 years ago –YIKES!   Did I wrote that down?)…   I am hoping and praying that my little girl will have fun memories doing it with me and later on by herself.

My daughter will be four this December.   I know she is too young to play with this by herself.   Supervision will be necessary!   But I am SO looking forward to decorate cakes with her…

Cake decorating is still part of my life.   I have taken a course at Michael's with Wilton to learn to decorate cakes.   I do it for fun.   I have no intention to go into that business as I see how much time it takes.  But for my family, I am enjoying being creative and make their birthday extra special.  Maybe my love of doing this comes from the time I used to cook little cakes back in the days…

Sometimes I use special molds for their birthdays while other times I try to be creative…   See some of the cakes I did in the past!

A little bit of history for the Easy Bake Oven…

Did you know that the first easy bake oven came out in 1963?  That was literally 6 years before I was born.   Look at what the oven looked like back then.

In 1969 – the year I was born, the Easy Bake was looking like this.

By 1977 – which is about the time I would have gotten mine the Easy Bake Oven was looking like this.

Over the years, the Easy Bake oven has known many modifications and redesigns to become a toy that kept coming back to please both moms and daughters.

The latest redesign was recently make with this new version and stylish oven.  Isn’t it beautiful?   I can already hear the happiness when my daughter will discover this!

Hasbro has a multitude of packages to cook a variety a products from cakes to cookies as well as pizzas.   Back in the days it was cake and that’s it.  Now young girls can have a choice in making anything they want with the Easy Bake Oven.   I’m super excited to discover new recipes and see what yummy things we could cook together my daughter and I.

I’m really impressed with the design of the oven and the items included in the box.   You will have many tools to help you cook fantastic and delicious cakes and more.    I love the fact that some molds are included in some of the extra packages so that my sweet Jasmine can become the baker in the family!  *grin*   I’m sure she will have great pleasure to do a special meal for daddy or her big brothers.

  1. I never had an easy bake, but my best friend did. She made cupcake, and i would just LOVE to be able to give my daughter the chance to do this independantly the way easy bake only can.

  3. I probably received my Easy Bake oven when I was about 8 or 9, which would have made it around 1980. I remember that I LOVED playing with it- I used to make cakes for my brother and dad. They loved them. I have been thinking for a while of getting one for my daughter, who loves to help me bake. It would be super fun to use it with her! Winning this would be a huge treat for her AND me! beebaker@gmail.com

  4. My mom never bought me one but my friends had them. I would have loved to bake cookies! This was in the early 80s when I would have had one. If I win this, I will save it for my son to use when he's old enough! sushideb@gmail.com

  5. I LOVED my easy bake as a child. I can remember trying to sneak a peak in the end of it to see if the cake was done yet. I can also remember helping my dad take it apart to replace the bulb several times so that I could bake some more. I had my easy bake in the late 80's or early 90's and it was the version with the U shaped "handle" to push your pan into the oven. I've already added this to my Christmas list for April and would love to win it for her for Christmas. She already loves helping mommy make cakes and cupcakes so I'd love for her to be able to make her own :D

  6. Although i do not live in the area you do, i'd still like to say how i got mine.

I was 10 (and still am lol) and i was looking on cake recipes online, then i saw it! The easy bake oven! Here is an link to an image of what oven i had: http://www.nicolesnickels.com/holidaygiftguide/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/easybake-300x300.jpg yes i had the mint green one. After i saw it, i KNEW i wanted it, i just had to bug my mom for a week then she bought it. I excitedly ope the box and carefully took out the oven. My mom helped me put in the light bulb. The next day i made my first cake the yellow cake BUT i ended up getting a small burn from the pan and dropped it so the cake fell into little pieces ): next i tried making a pizza, i made an easy cheesy pizza it was SO good but took long to cook. Now that the new oven is out im thinking about bugging her to get me it, no accually i won't my mom was already kind to buy me the mint green one. I think i would just save my allowance and buy it. In a month or 2 i should have the new easy bake oven! (: i also made: cookies, cakes, cheese breads! The best cake i ever made was a two layer choco cake for my mom lol if you want to contact me my blogger is: http://guinea-pig-care-and-more.blogspot.com/
