Our Thoughts

This is a classic story which I learned when I was younger.   I thought it would be great for my kids to hear it as well.   this particular version combines different versions of the story.    I remember that the version I had read when I was younger was different than this one.   However, what I didn’t know was that the fairy tale is one that was published as early as 1697.  

The app is very well done and incorporates many vintage illustration of the famous fairy tale.   You also have a different animation on each pages included in the app.   Sometimes you will be asked to color the hood in red, put the food in the basket, touch the wolf to hear it growl, and much more.

I was planning to get my daughter who is three to listen to the story but after going through it myself, I think I will wait a bit.    Some sounds are a bit scary I find (like the grand-mother screaming at the wolf) for my girl.   I know how she reacts sometimes with some shows we watch and I think it would be wiser for us to wait another year before sitting down and “reading” Little Red Riding Hood”.   However, you have the possibility to remove the sounds from the app as well.   

Part of me wishes that I could have the functionality of keeping the sounds of the story without having the reading being done.    So that my kids can practice their reading but still have the noises of the forest and so on.  Maybe in a future update this functionality will be available.  

Still this app is very well done.   I love the interactions that is already included in it and recommend it if your child is not easily scared.
