My Thoughts
As I sit and ponder of the 2011 year, I remember many natural disasters like tornadoes, flooding, earthquakes, volcanoes erupting just to mention a few. 2011 has been filled with events around the world and in Canada. For more specific natural disaster in Canada think of the forest fire in Slave Lake, AB, the flooding in Quebec and Manitoba, the high winds we experienced and more. In the Ottawa region, there were high winds that damaged some houses, broke down trees and destroyed fences. Nothing compared to the damages in the US or even Japan this year but still when you are not used to it in our small community, you remember it. Even our campground has not been spared has big trees broke down in paths as well as fell on some trailers a couple of weeks ago.
The DK Eyewitness DVD Natural Disasters will explain to you the various natural disasters that can happen around the world. It is very explanatory both visually and with the narration done through the movie. We all enjoyed learning more about the various kinds of natural disasters we can encounter around the world. This was definitively a great DVD to watch for our homeschool.
If your child is asking questions about natural disasters after learning about events like volcanoes erupting, earthquakes happening, flooding and more, this DVD would be a great addition to your DVD collection.
