Our Thoughts
The least I can say is that we were all impressed by the amount of work involved in an aircraft carrier. Honestly I never really stop and thought about how life would be on an aircraft carrier. Each individual on board has an important job to do to make sure that the planes are ready to fly.
This DVD introduced us to the life aboard an aircraft carrier and all the details that need to be in place for such an adventure. Whether you are a pilot or a simple technician the jobs aboard the ship are critical to maintain, direct, fly the planes as well as simply taking care of the people living there for an extended period of time.
We thought it was impressive to see the planes folding their wings so that they don’t take as much space. And the planning to make sure that there is enough food on board is impressive. We learned that more than 6000 people lived on board and that you can find anything and everything on the aircraft carrier from a dentist to their own television set.
Taking a tour of this ship was very interesting – even though it was through the lens of a camera. It helps us to realize how important each job is and the sacrifice that some people go through to perform their jobs (like leaving their family for a long period of time).
If you have a child interested in the life in the military and want to know how an aircraft carrier functions, this DVD will definitively open up a whole world for him/her.
The Big Aircraft Carrier DVD is available for purchase directly from Little Mammoth Media for the price of 14.95$ for the DVD or 4.99$ for the immediate download version.
