There is a special naming event at the Toronto Zoo right now.
On October 11, 2011, Aurora, one of the Zoo’s female polar bear, gave birth to three cubs. The father is Inukshuk.
Unfortunately, the mother rejected the cubs not too long after their birth. The staff at the Zoo quickly intervened and rescued two of the surviving cubs. 24 hours later, one of them died of injuries.
One male survived.
Isn’t he adorable?
This cute little thing was hand-raised by the staff at the Toronto Zoo. He is now located in a special enclosure in the Zoo’s Tundra Park before he is re=introduced to his mother, father and aunt.
However, to celebrate the birth, the Zoo has an online contest at this moment.
Contest will be close by March 16th, 2012. The top five names will be voted on by the public. The winning name will be announced on March 31, 2012.
If you want to participate, the only thing you have to do is to click on the image of the cub below and submit your name to the Zoo.
As for me, I have submitted a name and I look forward to meet him at our visit this summer since our membership is valid until August 2012.
