My Thoughts
For a family of six, this book is a blessing in disguise. Why? Simply because it contains recipes that will help you to manage the kitchen as well as continue homeschooling.
The recipes included in this cookbook cover a variety of meals;
- Breakfast
- Cooking fresh with local products
- Recipes from around the world
- When you need to eat fast
- Simple meals
- Bulk cooking
- Get-togethers
- Vegetarian
- Dairy free
- Gluten-free
A big disappointment for me is not having the nutritional information for each recipe. Also I like to see a picture with a recipe and this book contains no picture whatsoever (not even some example every now and then!). What can I say… I am a visual person and like to see what the meal look like before I consider it for my family. Finally, you need to have two crock-pots to do each suggestion of this book (unless you just want to do one recipe). Each two pages suggestions sort of go hand in hand so to cook both you definitively need two crock-pots.
Though I must admit that there are recipes that sounds interesting – especially the ones from different part of the world. As I am writing this I am starring at the Baked mangoes recipe and to be honest I find it mouth watering. Something to try for sure when the fruits are in season… For each suggestion you will also find some suggestions related to one of the recipes.
If you have a big family and/or busy schedule, slow-cooking is definitively a blessing.
