Star Wars Darth Maul double-bladed lightsaber
About the product
The lightsaber is the ultimate weapon of the heroic Jedi and the sinister Sith. When these two forces of good and evil meet in battle, the clash of their blades echoes throughout the galaxy. Grab your lightsaber and join the fight!
Become a master of lightsaber combat with this incredible double-bladed replica, just like the one wielded by DARTH MAUL. Mesmerize your opponent as you spin your lightsaber – then stun him with the press of a button as you extend one or both blades for a reach of five feet!
My Thoughts
The boys always wanted to have a lightsaber. Now my problem will have to be to make sure all of them play with this one… *grin* I wouldn’t even be surprised that my 4 years old daughter would want to try it out as well since she adores Ashoka a character from the Clone Wars.
This lightsaber is interesting as it is the one used by Darth Maul and has two double blades. The toy is very sturdy and made of plastic. Two buttons located in the middle of the lightsaber will allow the child to extend the blades while spinning it à la Darth Maul moves. Now to be honest, the way my house is build, I wouldn’t let my kids play with this in the middle of the hallway…. I don’t want them to hit the walls you see. But this toys could be great to play in open space – preferably in the outdoors if you ask me. *grin*
This lightsaber as well as the other ones available – Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi – will definitively allow your kids to re-enact their favorite battle scenes in the Star Wars movies. And it you ask me this is a priceless experience to watch your kids doing so. Last summer, while camping the younger kids grabbed sticks and played Star Wars… It was adorable!

My Thoughts
We received two of the new Star Wars Figures for the purpose of this review. One is the Darth Vader which has its own red lightsaber. In the back of the figure, there is a small button that you can push to create the “Lightsaber Attack” with the figure. Essentially, the character will twist it’s body to attack whatever is next to him. Pretty cool! The other figure included in the package was a clone tropper. But not any clone trooper. This one comes with spring-open wings backpack that will allow the specially trained clone trooper to do aerial reconnaissance and battle. The clone also comes with a gun as well as two missiles that can be inserted in the backpack.
I find that the Star Wars figures have come a long way from the ones existing back in the 70s (some of which we have in our household… a souvenir of my husband’s past!) The details are amazing and the fact that the figures can now bend and move is fabulous. Whether you know a collector or you have a child who loves Star Wars, these figures will provide joy in someone’s life.
These new toys from Hasbro are available at your favorite toy store. Look for the special section with Star Wars products to find the Star Wars Darth Maul Double-Bladed Lightsaber or the Star Wars Movie Legends Figures.
