Does God Exist? – True U DVD Series

Does God Exist? Kit: Building the Scientific Case

Focus on the Family and Dr. Stephen Meyer

Produced by Tyndale

What is True U?

TrueU is a DVD-based apologetics curriculum. Dr. Del Tackett, architect and voice of Focus on the Family’s The Truth Project®, describes this endeavor this way:

“Produced by Focus on the Family in conjunction with Coldwater Media, TrueU is an apologetics training series primarily geared to help prepare high school students for the rigorous challenges and attacks that will confront them on the university campus. My guess is that it will end up benefiting a whole lot more folks than just high school seniors.”

It is important to clarify that TrueU is not “The Truth Project for teens.” As envisioned by Dr. Tackett and our staff, TrueU will be, in essence, a series of “prequels” (or lead-in studies) to The Truth Project. (See the FAQ below, about TrueU’s format, for some important information regarding the lessons’ complexity).

TrueU is designed primarily to help students solidify their Christian faith with foundational apologetics training. This will equip young people to stand strong in the university environment, and also serve as a precursor to the in-depth study presented in The Truth Project of how to live out a Christian worldview in everyday life.

About the DVD

In this first DVD set of the TrueU series, Dr. Stephen Meyer plays a philosophical survival game, pitting four worldviews against one another in the quest to decide which one gives the best answers. Dr. Meyer examines the evidence and provides the tools needed for students to defend their faith and make it their own. This is the perfect resource for students preparing to enter college and a culture that may be hostile to their faith. Get more information at

My Thoughts

Finally a series of DVD that will help the youth to be prepare for College or University.

The primary target group for TrueU is students ages 15-22 however, my husband and I are quite excited with this series. It is indeed a good launch pad to the Truth Project Series that we have just finished. The TrueU series will have 4 DVD sets. I was blessed to be able to review the first set of DVD for this review.

Does God Exist? is a deep question that many will wonder sometimes. I find it important that our youth is trained to think and find the answers on their own. Yes we need to give them a Christian worldview but at the same time it is important that they are aware of other worldview outside of their environment so that they are prepared to face what is waiting for them once they arrive to college and university.

Over 80% of college/university Christian youth will lose their faith. That is a hard statistics to swallow. But many authors and Christian leaders are realizing more and more that it is something that needs to be address. We need to be realistic and realize that the problem exist everywhere even at Christian schools unfortunately.

In Does God Exist? your youth (and yourself!) will build the scientific case of the answer of this question via a series of 10 lessons. Also included in the package is a discussion guide which contains thought provoking question for each session.

This series will also be followed by three other ones touching the subject of the Bible, Christ and how to be able to respond to opponents in College/University. Truly the youth going through the whole series will be fully prepare to face adversity and have a solid ground to stand on while they remain strong in their faith. Set # 2 — TrueU: Is the Bible Reliable? — is anticipated to be released in early Fall 2010. The third and fourth sets of TrueU lessons are under development and will hopefully be filmed later this year, depending on God's provision in terms of technological and financial resources.

  1. Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
