Magdalena–Through her eyes

From Campus Crusade

About the DVD

THE LOVE SHE EXPERIENCED CHANGED HER LIFE.

THE MAN SHE FOLLOWED CHANGED THE WORLD.

MAGDALENA: Through Her Eyes is the story of Jesus from a woman's perspective. As she followed Jesus, Mary Magdalene witnessed changed lives, miracles and His tenderness toward women. Her own life was radically transformed when Jesus healed her and gave her a new purpose for living.

My Thoughts

If you have seen and enjoyed the Jesus film, you will be delighted to know that a new version containing a woman’s perspective is out on the market.   Magdalena: Through Her Eyes will transport you to biblical times and live the story through Magdalena herself.   For pure pleasure, I decided to watch the French version of the movie and I was delighted to hear my mother tongue not being destroyed like many other movies I could name.

The movie starts many years after the death of Christ and Magdalena start to tell her story to other women and children in a house where she is.    The movie incorporates scenes from the well-known and seen Jesus movie.   Some might think that using such a movie and including other scenes in it might make it obvious but I find the transitions are well done and it doesn’t distract the person watching the movie.

I also received a Bible Study which will help you to reflect on the movie and the theme of Hope.

This movie and the study can be transforming for the women in your church.   You could easily create a special night where you watch the movie and discuss in small groups as well as helping a women’s ministry in your community at the same time.    Following the movie, you can start a Bible Study which will bring you deeper in discovering how Jesus can transform your own life.  This Bible study will highlights some women from the Bible like Rivka, an adulterous woman, Mary the mother of Jesus, Mary Magdelene, the widow of Nain, the woman healed of bleeding and the woman at the well.

I have enjoyed having a different version of the Jesus story and I would recommend it to all my women friends.
