My Thoughts

I had signed up a while back for this review but because it was out of stock, the publisher had decided to cancelled the request of many bloggers at some point.   You see it was taking a long time for receiving it.   So I moved on and requested another products back in early March which I am still waiting for…

Imagine my surprised in mid-March when I received the Marriage Bible in the mail.  I guess they decided to send it to their bloggers after all!

The Family Life Marriage Bible is a great tool to start or strengthen a marriage.   We ourselves have started our marriage with the devotions found in Moments Together for Couples from the Raineys.    We still have the book after almost 13 years of marriage.    So I know from experience that what the Raineys write is very helpful and encouraging for a young couple who is starting their walk together.

This bible is a jewel that I would recommend for anyone to give as a gift for a wedding, for an anniversary or just to bless a couple you know.    Inside it the couple will find 52 devotions for couples, 250 biblical insights, 80 parenting questions answered (perfect for those who have kids or are considering to have kids!), romantic tips, and much more.

While discovering this Bible, I saw some intimate moments suggestions for men and for women.   I love the idea of having suggestions on how to bless your spouse and show him/her that you love them.   Also included are romance FAQs which contains questions like: How can husbands and wives please one another more consistently? or How can a young couple handle the inevitable challenges of the first five years of marriage?   These questions cover subjects like children, communication, conflict, difficulty, distractions, faith, forgiveness, for husbands, for wives, infidelity, intimacy, romance, sex and success in marriage.    All points that need and should be covered early in marriage.

In the parenting matters sections you will find subjects like anger, appearance, character, communication, conflict, crisis, direction/mission, discipline, discouragement, drugs/alcohol, faith, godliness, involvement, media, prayer, quality time, rebelliousness, relationships with others, sex, siblings, teens, truthfulness, and younger children.  Honestly, I think that reading on these matters early in marriage is essential to prepare the couple to life with kids.

As a couple it is essential to grow together in Christ, to improve your marriage and be the best parents you can.   The FamilyLife Marriage Bible will equip you for this journey with the help of the Raineys.   You can’t go wrong by picking this Bible either for yourself or for a wedding gift.    It is priceless and will be helpful for the many years of marriage to come.

The FamilyLife Marriage Bible is available at your favourite bookstore, even at amazon.ca.
