My Thoughts
This book is extra special for me as I only have one daughter and she was my last child. The first time we read it together, we snuggled on her bed and read it out loud. She is three years old and enjoyed every minute of being with mom alone to listen to a story. But a specific line stuck with me…
As the little girl grows up, the mom keeps saying
You are God’s gift to me, forever you will be!
It reminded me how truly special my kids are for us. Each of them are God’s gift to us. Literally! We had very small chances to be able to conceive naturally. Imagine our joy and delight to now have four kids of our own. We are blessed. Having a girl after three boys is extra special. She is bringing joy in our lives, pink, purple and ladybugs included. She loves dolls and ballerinas, Tinker Bells and did I mention ladybugs?
Nevertheless, I love all my kids and this book is precious to me and my daughter. It reminded me a popular book with the same idea but a mom rocking her son… *grin*
My daughter won’t take the boss – Lord’s willing – as we are homeschooling but I am sure that there will be other situations that I will have to encourage her and let her go on her own.
In the meantime, I love her sweet kisses and her gigantic hugs.
Mommy Whispers is available at your favorite bookstore, even amazon.ca.
