About the book

David Ponder is back. This time the fate of mankind is in his hands.

This is mankind’s last chance. Centuries of greed, pride, and hate have sent humanity hurtling toward disaster, and far from its original purpose. There is only one solution that can reset the compass and right the ship, and it consists of only two words.

With time running out, it is up to David Ponder and a cast of history’s best and brightest minds to uncover this solution before it is too late. The catch? They are allowed only five tries to discover the answer.

Readers first encountered David Ponder in The Traveler's Gift. Now, in The Final Summit, Andrews combines a riveting narrative with astounding history in order to show us the one thing we must do when we don’t know what to do.

Many years have passed since David Ponder discovered the Seven Decisions during a divine journey through time. Now 74 years old, Ponder has lost the one thing that mattered to him most: his wife, Ellen. Despite his personal and professional success, he now sits alone at the top of his 55-story high-rise contemplating the unthinkable, just as he did 28 years ago.

However, just as things are looking their darkest, Ponder is informed through divine channels that he is needed now more than ever. Together, with the help of hundreds of his fellow Travelers, from Winston Churchill to George Washington Carver to Joan of Arc, he must work to discover the one solution that will save humanity. Time is running out, and the final summit of Travelers must work quickly to avoid dire consequences.

The Final Summit explores the historically proven principles that have guided our greatest leaders for centuries, and how we might restore these principles in our own lives...before it's too late.

Who is Andy Andrews?

Andy Andrews, hailed by a New York Times writer as someone who has quietly become "one of the most influential people in America,” is a best-selling novelist and in-demand corporate speaker for the world’s largest organizations. The Traveler’s Gift, a featured book selection of ABC’s Good Morning America, has been translated into nearly twenty languages and was on the New York Times bestseller list for seventeen weeks.

Andy has spoken at the request of four different United States presidents and toured military bases around the world, being called upon by the Department of Defense to speak to the troops. Arguably, there is no single person on the planet better at weaving subtle yet life-changing lessons into riveting tales of adventure and intrigue—both on paper and on stage.

My Thoughts

I guess it would help to situate myself a bit better in the story if I had read The Traveler’s Gift before I read this one.   Unfortunately, it isn’t the case but this book can be read independently if you didn’t know that there is a prequel to it.    I have reviewed other books from Andy Andrews in the past and when I had the opportunity of reviewing this one as well, I jumped on it.

As soon as you start reading this book, you will be transported in the presence of important people from the past.   With the main character in charge of the summit, together they will have to answer one question that will help to save humanity.   The answer to the question in only two words.   Guided by an archangel, they will have to be quick to avoid an harsh consequence if they don’t answer within the time limit established at the beginning of the meeting.

Will they be able to do it?

To discover you will have to read the book.   The story has a mix of time travelling and historic information throughout the book.    It can grab your attention and keep you interested until the last page of the book.    The idea behind the book is different from what I am usually used to read.  It was very nice to discover a different style of story that I am enjoying.     I would recommend the book.    Now I think I will get the prequel one of these days.  *grin*

The Final Summit is available at your favorite bookstore, even at amazon.ca.
