You have probably seen the Eyewitness book from DK at your local library or at the bookstore. These books are packed with information on a specific subject like Ancient Rome for example.
Did you know that DK also have a series of DVDs based on the Eyewitness books? I had the opportunity of watching the seashore one with my kids. Geared for 8 to 17 years old, this DVD will present the seashore like you never seen it before.
Mixing images from the books with videos and animation, the DVD presents the seashore like you never has seen it before. You will have detailed information from the crashing of the waves to how the coastlines are full of life. While following a crab, you will discover a whole world full of life. The fun part is that you will be able to enjoy the seashore even more next time you go to the beach. Personally, I am looking forward to be able to bring my kids on a beach to discover the seashore when the tide is away. Exploring puddles and discovering crabs, sea stars and more is a dream of mine. The DVD is also explaining the different levels of life that you can find while exploring the seashore.
My four kids loved seeing the various life forms you can found while at the beach, discovering more about shells and crabs, and learning about the seashore in general. Some of the information presented covers the astrological information but they do not extend much time on it. It was nice to have video incorporated with some information found in the book. It made it more interactive in a way and more interesting to the kids. Seeing the creatures living at the seashore was an highlight for them.
This was our first eyewitness DVD that we watched together and definitively not the last one!
