The Product
Since babies are unable to blow their nose and can develop as many as eight colds a year, our friends at hydraSense® have designed a new product that provides quick and effective relief from your baby’s nasal congestion and helps avoid excessive crying and poor sleeping.

The hydraSense® Nasal Aspirator and its filters were developed with pediatricians, and are brought to you by hydraSense® , the leading brand in saline solutions for the whole family. The hydraSense® Nasal Aspirator is a gentle and safe way to relieve your baby’s nasal congestion quickly and effectively. It helps to maintain clear breathing and to facilitate eating and sleeping. Its soft nasal tip is specifically designed for babies’ delicate noses and its transparent design allows for you to see the amount and type of mucus that is being removed. hydraSense® Nasal Aspirator has a protective single-use filter that traps excess mucus, providing hygienic aspiration. The tip and base of the aspirator are easily removable for effective cleaning after each use. Unlike squeezable nasal aspirators, the hydraSense® Nasal Aspirator allows you to control the strength of the suction with your aspiration.

For best results, and to liquefy mucus prior to aspiration, use hydraSense® Easydose® or hydraSense®Ultra-Gentle Mist with Comfort Tip, a nasal solution composed of isotonic, undiluted, sterile, 100% natural-source desalinated seawater. hydraSense® contains more than 70 trace elements and minerals naturally occurring in seawater and is preservative free.

My Thoughts
I have 4 kids ages 2, 4, 6, and almost 9. And when a cold hit our household, you can be sure that it will go around everyone. And when my smaller kids have trouble breathing, it is hard for mom and dad to help them. Back when my oldest was a baby, we had bought a nasal pump that suck out the mucus from the nose of the child. Let me tell you that this little device was not appreciated by ANY of my kids. They disliked it and cried when we used it. But as parents we knew it was “good” for them and helped them to breathe better for a little while. So while one was holding the child down, the other would use the device to suck the mucus out. Not fun let me tell you this…

But now, in the year of 2010, comes a new product that looks pretty amazing if you ask me. The hydraSense Nasal Aspirator and its filters is probably the answer of our quest for something easier to use in cold cases. Unfortunately, my kids are getting older and we are not planning having any other ones.

I’ve received a package from Mom Central with a hydraSense Nasal Aspirator and its accompanying products. I’ve shown the things I have received to my husband and he was quite impressed by it. His comment was “too bad we can’t use it…” as our youngest is 2 years old and since we don’t have any cold at this moment in the house.

I’m quite impressed with the hydraSense Nasal Aspirator as it looks as it would be easier for new parents to help their baby breathe easily during a cold period. I am planning to bless my neighbor with the package I have received since she is pregnant and expecting her baby in the spring. She will be able to make better use of it than me next winter.

Here’s the good news for my readers. If you go to the hydraSense website (www.hydrasense.ca/en/babynasal.aspx) from now on until April 10, 2010 you can sign up for the Dolphins Club and download the exclusive coupon. Once logged back into your account, you can enter the code MC2010 under the online coupons tab, in order to get an $8 off coupon to be used towards the purchase of the hydraSense® Nasal Aspirator. The coupon itself expires December 31, 2010.

  1. nasal aspirators are really important most especially if your child is still infant since they still don't know how to blow their nose and may cause difficulty in breathing. It is better if you have one ready with you when time comes that you needed it already.
