My Thoughts

Have you sat down and read the stories of the saints, martyrs and heroes of the Christian faith?    Do you know the history of Christianity?   I know a bit of it but there is no way that I have picture the whole history of it.

Thomas Nelson has released an interesting yearly devotional that might catch your interest.   Throughout the year, you will read stories from saints, martyrs and heroes from the Christian faith.    Every day of the year, you will be transported in time and read what happened to someone who was a Christian.

Each reading is also accompanied by a scripture which you can meditate on and study further during the day.    I would also suggest that you pray this scripture into your life during your devotional time.   What a great way to discover more about what God’s wants to tell you!  Having a specific scripture for every day of the year to meditate on is an amazing idea.

This book is well thought because for once I have in my hands a devotion who also planned for the bissextile years when there is an extra day in February.   I applaud the initiative of the author in thinking about this.

If you are looking into discovering what happened in the history of Christianity during 2011, I would recommend this book.    It can also be a wonderful gift for a family member or a friend.

On This Day in Christian History is available at your favourite bookstore, even at amazon.ca.
